The term “kardashian” was first used to describe Kim Kardashian in an article published by Life & Style Magazine in March 2007. Since then, she has made it famous! Before her career as a businesswoman, media personality, and influencer, Kim worked in fashion marketing for brands such as Gucci, Chanel, Givenchy, and Yves Saint Laurent.
Her impressive list of professional accomplishments makes her one of the most well-known people in the world. She is also known for being very public abouther life; she posts pictures and videos online that are usually focused on herself or her family.
Kim began posting photos and short clips on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook in late 2005. At this time, she didn't have her own website or profile on any other social network site.
She eventually hired a company to build her own website where she posted more detailed information about herself and her businesses. In April 2006, just over a year after her first appearance in the magazine, her official website went live with all of her products and services listed.
Since then, she has continued to grow her brand through various media platforms. Many consider her to be influential, which is why her style, behaviors, and messages have been copied many times. People often say that even though they don’t watch her show, they recognize some element of her style or lifestyle from watching the TV program.
Before there was a Kardashian, you had to know who Kylie is. You probably knew she’s rich because of her family, but beyond that? Not so much. She has a fashion line! What else is she in touch with their fame?
In 2007, TV producer Scott Sternberg pitched an idea for a new show to his friend Kris Humphries. He envisioned a show where people paid to watch trained celebrities make fake, plastic smiles while chatting about superficial topics.
He called this concept “The Smile Revolution.” After realizing how successful he’d been at creating these fake smiles before, he gave it some more thought and changed the name to Lip Sync Battle.
Sternbergh pitched the show to Humpies as a way to take advantage of his training in acting to create entertaining content. They both agreed it sounded like fun and Hy could use the money, too.
So they took out a small amount of savings and bought a few thousand dollars’ worth of studio time a month to film the first season. And thus, the world watched as Kylie Jenner danced, sang, and acted through her own lip sync videos.
Bam – famous.
Before there was The Kardashian Empire, there were TV shows! Starting with her show in 2007, Kris Jenner’s Life Channel aired for ten seasons before she decided to launch her own network, E! Entertainment.
Khloe Kardashian followed this up by creating her very own mobile app in 2013 called Khloe Living which allowed users to create profiles, read recipes, and get fashion tips and products. Then she launched another app titled ‘Life After 25′ where young adults can talk about their lives after college.
Since then, Kim Kardahashian has starred in several Vlogging videos (you may have heard of them) and YouTube channels. She also owns two beauty brands; Kylie Cosmetics and Kontrolle.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians is still airing but it is now on its 17th season! It follows the family as they navigate through life together and focus on their career and personal relationships.
*General disclaimer*: I will not be talking about any part of the movie or TV show that includes the word Kardashian in the title.
The term “Kardashian” was first used to describe the family in 2007, when Life & Style Magazine published an article titled, ‘The Kardashian Phenomenon.’ Since then, it has become one of the biggest brands in America.
With their constant media appearances, online following, and appearance fees, the Kardashian clan is very wealthy. Even though they are not professionally trained actors or actresses, they have built up a large fan base due to their portrayal of normal people living an overly-public life.
Theirs is a story that seems almost cliché at this point – rich parents with lots of children throw themselves into work so hard that their kids suffer. They put pressure on them to succeed in ways that are too much for some students to handle, especially since many schools now ask about their family status during the application process.
But before the Kardashians were famous for being underpaid teachers, there was another scandal lurking behind their rise to fame. It was revealed in 2016 that the whole family made $100 million from the sale of their company, M&M Productions. This includes Robert, Caitlyn, Khloe, Kylie, and Kendall as well as all five of their children!
Since then, members of the family have spoken candidly about how difficult it has been to move past the event, but also how proud they are of what they accomplished.
Before there was a TV show, before there were shoes or lipsticks, there was the Kardashian family. Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, and of course, Kendall are all part of the family.
The term “Kardashian” refers to both the individual people within the family as well as the name itself. In fact, many refer to just the whole thing as simply “the Kardashians!”
Since their debut in 2005 with an episode of MTV's reality series Laguna Beach, the Kardashian clan has become one of television's biggest powerhouses. A quick Google search will pull up lots of articles and videos talking about everything the family has done since then - from breaking records for most jewelry sold by a person to having your own furniture line.
And now, they're building another empire: fashion lines that sell products across various categories. There have been reports of employees being given freebies (and even paid trips) to advertise certain brands, which some say crosses into employee bribery. And while this may be annoying to non-fans, it really doesn't matter how much you might dislike the way the Kardashians run their business practices — they make money, and they know what makes them rich.
So why should we care? Because even though the Kardashians themselves don't represent our average, everyday lifestyle, they do teach us something important about branding, marketing, and success.
Before there was a Kardashian family, there was just Kim. Born in South Korea as Kim Kwon-Thong, she grew up with her parents and sister Khloe in Calabasas, California. Her father is of Korean descent and her mother is white, making the Kardashians an interracial family.
Kim attended UCLA but dropped out to pursue a career in modeling. In 1995, at the age of 21, she got into fashion designing and launched her own collection.
Her designs were mostly leather jackets and skirts or pants with cutout pieces that revealed some part of the body. Many people noticed her clothes and began asking for them or offering to buy them. This resulted in her having to start selling her clothing line through mall stores and online shopping sites.
In 2002, after filming The Best Of Us for E! Entertainment’s Style Lounge, producer Scott Stelworthy asked if anyone knew any good photographers. Since Kylie had a friend who took great pictures, Stelworthy invited her to take some photos of his daughter Sydney for use on the site.
Stacy then hired Kylie to be one of the site’s featured style experts and she never looked back.
Before there was The Kardashian Empire, they had to prove themselves as famous people first. They have since built up that reputation by creating their own line of cosmetics and fashion brands!
The term ‘Kardashian’ is actually short for Kardashian-Jenner. This comes from their surnames. Caitlyn Jenner (formerly known as Bruce) married Kris Humphries in 2013, so she took his last name. Similarly, Kendall and Khloé both married men with no surname, so they just add -jen to theirs!
Many people know Kim, Kourtney, Kylie or even Rob as The Kardashian, but not all of them do.
With their individual net worths in excess of $100 million each, the Kardashian clan is one of the wealthiest in America. Kim’s beauty business alone has made her well-off!
The Kardashian family began with actress to mother Kris Jenner making an appearance on TV for a show called Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Since then, she has built a career off selling fashions, hairstyles, and cosmetics that are designed to appeal to busy women.
While the media often talks about how the Kardashians are famous due to being rich and having large followings on social media, it is sometimes overlooked why they have such a big audience. They put in a lot of effort into promoting their products and brands, which attracts more people to purchase them.
Many people watch the shows not because of the money but because it is entertaining to see what the Kardashians do next. In fact, many celebrities can make a good income just from marketing themselves and their lifestyle brand.
General public attention towards the Kardashian family really took off when Kylie debuted her signature lip product, Lip Kits. Due to its success, every major makeup company now offers a similar line of lip products.
Since their early days as famous people, The Kardashian’s have done much more than just promote products and magazines. Along with owning businesses and fashion lines, they have given back by supporting charitable organizations and initiatives. These include donating money to raise awareness for global health issues like HIV/AIDS and malaria, funding research programs such as those that find new ways to treat cancer, and even financing educational scholarships or training programs for underprivileged kids.
The Kardashian family is not the only one to do this, but they are certainly well known for it! Many other celebrities have also made similar donations and announcements about charity work.
There are several reasons why these high profile individuals choose to support particular causes, but perhaps the biggest one is publicity. By announcing their contributions and what causes they supported, it creates an audience of followers who are aware of the charities they represent.
This exposure can help get resources for the organization so they can continue doing their job helping others, and it raises morale since people know about the efforts being put in.
