Recent reports claim that it is now possible to spend up to 30 days waiting for your visa approval in India! This sounds incredible, but before you get too excited, there are some important things to know about this rumor.
First of all, this isn’t true for everyone. It seems like most people aren’t talking much about this possibility anymore, so chances are good that it has been debunked already.
Second, even if this rumor was true for YOU, it wouldn’t matter anyway. The reason being is that the length of time it takes for visas to be processed varies from country to country. In fact, it can take anywhere from just one day to many months or even years depending on how quickly your embassy/consulate moves.
Third, even though it may seem impossible at times, it’s totally doable to get your visa within 30 days. And while this may not sound appealing at first, we will talk more about that later. For now, let’s discuss the why behind this rumor.
The source of this rumour comes down to two factors- bureaucracy and corruption. Technically speaking, the government in India is made up of three separate parts - parliament, administration, and judiciary. Within these groups, there are several different bureaus that make up each part's function.
Recent developments have allowed some people to bring their visa applications forward, which has given them more time to prepare before they visit Australia as a traveling companion or even as a resident. Companies that process visas for Australian citizens are now offering one year of processing within Canada and Europe!
This is very helpful for someone who wants to live in Australia but doesn’t want to start a life here until two years down the road. They can spend those twelve months preparing and then apply when they feel ready. It also gives them additional time to find employment and house arrangements if they don’t yet own property.
There is a cost associated with this service though. The longer you wait to begin your life in Australia, the more expensive it becomes so make sure you're prepared to pay for it.
Recent developments for visa applicants in India are now requiring people to spend six months waiting for approval. This is quite the shift from past practices where most international visitors would be given a visa within weeks of applying!
This new policy was put into effect back in May 2019, when The Directorate General (DG) of Immigration issued Directive No. 01/2019 which stated that “visa issuance takes 6 month(s).”[1]
The reason for this long wait period is because of an increase in demand due to COVID-19. Since many countries have implemented quarantine policies or restrictions on travel, immigration departments across the globe can experience an uptick in applications coming their way.
Applicants must still meet all other requirements, but they will now need to patiently wait for their documents to arrive before moving forward with the process.
What does this mean for you?
It means that it can take up to two years to get your visas if you live in India as a foreigner! Even more difficult during these times when tourism has been severely limited due to coronavirus fears.
While unfortunate, this situation may also give you some extra time to explore India and learn about its culture. If you are already living here, then chances are you make enough money to survive the length of time needed for processing.
Recent developments for visa applicants in India are one year visa processing times. This is quite the feat given that it has taken much longer than this before!
The government of India made this announcement back in June 2018. Since then, many international companies have updated their immigration documents to include information about the new deadline.
Many people have discussed the benefits of having this new system. Some say it will help keep order at Indian embassies around the world, as there will be an end to long backlogs.
Another reason why this is such a big deal is because it gives individuals more confidence in the country’s bureaucracy. It shows they are being heard and that things are changing for the better.
However, there are also some who believe that employees working at the embassy will use this new process as an excuse to sleep during the day. Given how hard it can be to get any work done during the daily rush, this may seem like a good idea!
Overall, though, I think these changes are very positive ones for India. They give hope to those looking into moving to or investing in the country.
Even if you have an urgent situation, there is nothing that says you need to wait for the next batch of visas before submitting yours. You can start revising this page at any time!
It’s very important to remember that even after all the applications are submitted, it may still take several days or weeks until they are processed. This is due to the volume of applications and the many stages each one goes through.
At IFAVISA, our mission is to make immigration easy, fast, and affordable. That means we cannot do anything to influence how long it takes for your documents to be reviewed and approved. We leave that up to Immigration Canada (IC) and their review process.
We tell people with similar experiences as us not to get discouraged, instead stay focused on the goal. Keep working on your applications and giving yourself enough time to respond to notifications etc.
The next step is to gather all of your documents and proof that you have adequate funds to stay in India for your length of stay, as well as return home.
It's important to remember that it may take several days or even weeks after you apply for a visa before you receive it so don’t expect to pick up your passport at the airport!
Many people start looking into staying abroad once they've received their visas, but there are many things you need to do beforehand!
Finding an apartment or house to live in while you're here will depend on if you want to be close to the city or not, as well as your budget. It'll cost money to eat every day so make sure you can afford this!
There are also ways to get around town easily with buses and taxis, both paid and free depending on where you go. To save some money, try taking the bus line which doesn’t require too much cash to use.
Recent developments for visa processing times in India are very discouraging. The Indian government has made it clear that there is no guarantee of a quick approval process or even an approval at all. This can be quite frustrating as you have to start the application process over again!
Making things worse, many people have reported long delays due to lack of resources or staff at some consulates. It seems like the bureaucracy in New Delhi is running out of steam and needs help managing its workload.
To make matters worst, several reports state that it takes longer than expected to receive confirmation about whether or not your visa was approved. Some say weeks, others even months!
We already mentioned before that having your documents ready will help speed up the process so we will go into more detail here.
You should check if your visa has been processed recently by visiting our dedicated page where you can also find tips on what to do next.
It is very unfortunate that we need to tell you this, but it is important to know!
Visas can take anywhere from one day to several weeks to process in India. This depends mostly on two things – the country you are traveling to and what type of visa you have.
For example, if you are visiting Thailand for less than three months then processing time will be much faster- probably just a few days. But if you are planning on staying longer than six months or even traveling beyond the Thai border, then processing times become more lengthy.
This could mean waiting in long lines at Indian embassies abroad, or possibly having to send your documents back home and starting the visa application process all over again. Make sure you have enough time to wait for your return flight after leaving the country!
Another reason why visa processing time may be extended is because of national holidays. Since most countries hold their annual holiday during the month of August, there may not be many people working at that time.
Also, some countries require extra documentation; therefore, holding up the process.
In fact, you do not even need a visa for up to 30 days in India! This is one of the biggest benefits of traveling from America through Asia via air.
You do, however, need to have confirmation of your return flight or trip after your stay has expired (this can be done online or by contacting the airline directly).
Most major airlines offer an app or website where you can register your trip and track its progress. Some make it easy to add extra days before departing for your next destination, which helps you cover your story if there are any delays.
This article will discuss some things to consider when staying past your visa expiration in India.
