How Many Days Australian Visa Processing

By Tiara

Recent developments for visa applicants in Australia include information about how long it can take to process your application, as well as what you should do while waiting for updates.

If you are an applicant with CAS (Commonwealth Administrative Service) visa processing, there is an important update that we want to talk about here today!

We have noticed that some of our readers may be experiencing longer than usual wait times when trying to access their applications. This has been happening since early January 2020.

Since then, several people have contacted us to let us know that they were unable to login into their account due to system issues or a message stating that their username and password was not valid. They also reported receiving no response from CIS (the department within government responsible for administering visas) either via phone or email.

It is very important that you remain active while you are waiting for your visa to be processed. Visit any public spaces such as libraries or museums if you need to stay indoors and avoid large groups of people. You can still enjoy these settings by using your smartphone or computer. Simply go through your normal procedures like looking up studies or work opportunities before sitting down to read or use the software.

There is nothing wrong with your application, so there’s really no reason to feel bad at this stage! The best thing you can do now is simply re-enter your personal data and begin applying again until your visit is approved.

What happens when there is a delay?

When your visa processing times reach one week, it can get frustrating for you as well as us!
As mentioned earlier, we have to wait up to a month before knowing if your visa has been approved or not.

This can be very stressful and hard to manage, especially if you are waiting for an important meeting that requires enough time to organize.

We at eVisasAlert do our best to keep you informed every step of the way, but sometimes life gets in the way and things take longer than expected.

That’s why we have a second round of help for you.

We have partnered up with another company who will monitor ACVIS (the organization that processes applications) for you. You no longer need to worry about what’s going on while all this chaos takes place!

This other company will check into how long it usually takes, so you know what to expect.

How to check the visa processing time

It is very common to be asked how long it will take for an immigration agent or company to process your application. There are several ways you can find this information, but none of them give you complete picture.

Most companies have a website that features all their services, including VISA processing times. By going onto their site you can usually find this info under the ‘My Services’ tab.

By contacting the company directly they may also offer some timing estimates. You can always try asking through other mediums like social media or calling their helpline instead.

We at Can I Work International don’t recommend using these as hard dates, but more as estimated dates. We hope with our previous tips you were able to get better estimations!

If you happen to know someone who has already applied for a visa then ask if they knew what the processing time was.

Are there any consequences of a long visa processing time?

There is always some risk with applying for visas, but having a longer wait to receive your passport or know whether you are approved or not means one thing: You have invested in this process and it has paid off!

If your application is denied, you can reapply within six months and start over. What more incentive do you need to apply now?!

By being aware of what happens after your visa is processed, here are some things you should be prepared for.

1) Reentry permits

A reentry permit allows you to return to Australia if you have been given an entry suspension (or tourist visa refusal). This normally occurs when someone suspects that you may work while in the country or will fail to tell the truth about who sponsors you.

2) Health checks

Most countries require health check documents at least two weeks before granting entry. These include tests for infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis and other conditions.

3) Evidence proving employment

You must provide proof of adequate income during the proposed stay in Australia and evidence that you plan to spend money while in the country. This includes paying bills online or using banking apps to verify accounts.

Do I need my visa before I travel?

It is not necessary to have your visa in hand prior to traveling, however, it is helpful to know how long it takes for you to receive it so that you are not waiting around for it.

If you already have proof of sufficient funds for your trip (such as from a job or savings) then there is no reason to wait until you get back to apply for the visa. You can apply while you are still abroad!

Some countries may require an additional fee per day that you stay, which can add up quickly if you are planning on staying longer than two weeks, so it’s important to start thinking about leaving.

Remember that most people will agree to provide their passport information when they enter Australia, so having this done ahead of time will help you save time once you arrive.

What is the exit visa situation?

Recent changes to Australia’s immigration laws have introduced what are known as ‘exit visas’ for overstayers. An exit visa allows you to leave Australia, but only if you give up your residency status here!

If this happens then we can apply to remove the entry visa that allowed you into Australia in the first place. This would be the tourist visa or working visa.

So how do we get rid of these visas? There are two ways to do it depending on whether you’ve already broken the law by staying longer than your visa allowed for.

Way 1- You don’t need an exit visa if you haven’t done anything wrong.

It’s important to note that even though there is now an exit visa rule in place, people who have been granted one won’t necessarily need one.

This could be because they aren’t planning to stay longer than their permitted period in Australia, or it might be due to someone contacting Immigration about them before they left.

Who can I contact if I need more information?

If you are experiencing slow visa processing times, there are several things you can do to resolve the issue. The first step in this process is to make sure your personal details are up-to-date.

Visas require proof of residence, employment and health insurance so check that these items have been verified before they’re issued. This could be done through our website or by contacting Customer Service directly at info@cisvisaprogram.com.au.

If all these documents have already been gathered then it may be due to overloading in the Immigration Department as well as their location.

It is very difficult for us to intervene without knowing exactly what we are dealing with but our team are trained to identify potential issues and work around them. We also advise staying informed and checking back often to see if the situation has improved.

Is a visa really that expensive?

Even though it may seem like a very large amount of money, it is not actually that much when you compare it to what most people spend on a monthly basis. Most Australians enjoy a high standard of living which includes frequent trips overseas for tourism or business.

Most people in Australia have a good income so they pay for their own visa through private sources such as family members or savings. The cost of a tourist visa is usually paid for at the reception of an embassy or consulate where visas are processed.

This article will look more into how expensive a visa can be depending on who you ask and what kind of visa you apply for.

Am I able to pay?

If you have enough money to last you for your trip, there is no need to worry about paying for visa processing!

There are several ways to fund your trip when it comes down to the final hours of registration. The most common way is through payment via credit card, but you can also use an alternative method such as using PayPal or accessing banking facilities in Australia that accept foreign currencies.

You will be asked to provide proof of sufficient funds at the time of application so make sure to keep these ready!”

General tips for travelling with a large amount of cash

We recommend keeping around $1,000 per person to cover any emergencies that may occur during your travels. Make sure this is not spent on the visa process!

More expensive items like accommodation and food should be spread across multiple exchanges to offset the cost. There are many apps and sites that can help you do this quickly and easily.

Applications like HyreCar and Airbnb can really help cut down on costs too! Read our article here for more info.
