How Long Is Processing Time For Canada Student Visa

By Tiara

In this article, we will talk about how much time it takes to process your Canadian student visa. This includes getting approval from international agencies, university admissions, housing, and moving. All of these things must happen before you can officially come back to Canada as a student!

It is very important to know what timeframe various organisations give students when they need to confirm that everything is ready before they can start studying in Canada.

Many universities have their own timelines for faculty or departmental appointments, so be aware of those too. Some departments may even require people to be approved by their PhD program before being considered for employment within the department!

We also talked about how most countries’ embassies and consulates are staffed during working hours only. This means that unless you live close to an embassy or consulate, you would have limited access to help during business hours.

This article will focus on how to get around this by doing some extra work outside normal business hours.

Immigration processes

Beyond what is mentioned in our article, there are several other things that can affect how long it takes to process your visa application. These include:

The country you’re applying from – some countries seem to take longer than others to process student visas. This is because their government departments work independently with different deadlines and internal procedures.

Some of these countries also require additional documents or proof which could mean going back to get them, if they aren’t already included in your file.

We have heard stories of applicants who need to start over due to missing documents or information!

Whether you are an experienced applicant or not, it is important to be aware of this so that you don’t waste any more time gathering everything needed afterwards. Make sure to check out our tips for something like this here.

If under 18 years old when entering Australia, then we can advise you that only dependent children can apply for a study visa at this age. As such, unless your parents are able to provide proof of employment after graduation or proof of accommodation (such as through friends or relatives), then we cannot help you here.

However, if you turn 19 before attending university, then congratulations! You will still be eligible to attend as an independent student. Just make sure your residence status is confirmed soon after arrival to ensure you do not run into issues.

Country of Study

Not all universities accept students from outside their region.

Document requirements

The next set of documents you will need to include in your visa application is proof that you have enough money to support yourself while studying in Canada. This can be done through various means, such as having savings or paychecks, or via income proofs like employment certificates or receipts.

You should also include evidence of accommodation, either through rental agreements or direct statements from landlords. Many students find it helpful to bring along their roommate’s consent to stay in Canadian homes after graduation, if they are still living with them.

A student passport or citizenship card is another good indicator of financial stability, since it shows an address outside of India where the applicant lives. If this isn’t included, then it may raise some suspicions about the individual’s ability to afford staying abroad for longer than six months.

Your application

After receiving your documents, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will then process your application. This includes verifying your identity, gathering evidence to prove you are of legal age, determining if you have enough money to come back home, and confirming that you meet the visa requirements.

It can take several days or even weeks before CIC sends you an acknowledgement letter informing you whether your application has been accepted or rejected. If your papers have already been received, but you haven’t heard anything yet, be sure to check your mailbox periodically!

If your paper work is complete and your application has been approved, expect to receive your visitor’s permit around two months after submitting your paperwork.

Applying in person

After you have gathered all of your documents, equipment and clothing to apply at one of our visa application centres, what is the next step? The most common way to complete this process is by applying in person.

When you apply in-person, you will be required to attend an appointment at a designated location that we provide to you. This can either be at our national headquarters or at a regional centre that has been set up as an additional visa service area.

We recommend attending your appointment during normal business hours (8–5 M-F), as these are our busiest times. There is no requirement to do so however, as visas can be processed remotely if necessary.

Applying online

It is not necessary to apply in person at an embassy or consulate. Most visa services offer you the option of applying via their website instead. By doing this, you can be sure that your information has been transmitted securely and that it was read and verified by professionals before being processed.

Some websites may also require you to give them certain documents as proof of identity or residency, which are then secured and sent to the appropriate agency.

The length of time it will take to process your application depends mostly on two things; how long the department office takes to review your materials and whether there are any delays due to national holidays, bad weather or other events.

It is best to have all of your supporting documents easily accessible as you wait for confirmation.

Your passport

The next step is to gather your documents, confirm that you have enough money to stay in Canada while you are studying, and then pack up your things!

It’s important to remember that every country has its own specific visa requirements, so it is not necessarily easy to apply online or through an agency directly. Some countries even require you to visit their offices before applying for a visa, which can be very expensive if you are not sure of the process.

We recommend talking to a friend or family member who is living abroad at this time to make sure everything goes smoothly. They can also help with any paperwork you might need – like proof of funds or medical records.
