As we all know, Spider-Man has been around for decades now! He’s starred in his own animated series as well as feature films. He even got his very own show last year! But how did this famous wall crawler get here?
It all started with an artist named Bert Christenfeld. Back in 1967, he designed what would become one of the most recognizable characters in comics – The Amazing Spider-Man!
He originally intended to give Peter Parker (the character's real name) his Aunt May's address so that he could visit her after she was robbed and murdered. However, when writer Roger Stern rewrote the scene, he decided to use May's funeral instead!
Christenfeld later recalled, "I had just finished painting [Aunt] May at her house when I realized something wasn't quite right."
Apparently, while he was drawing Spider-Man looking off into the distance, someone told him that he looked like Harry Osborn - Spider-Man villain Norman Osbourne!
"That made me laugh," said Christenfeld. "[Spider-Man looks] kind of like Harry!"
After some brainstorming, he came up with the idea to make Spider-Man confront his past. This lead to him creating another character called 'The Inheritor'.
This guy would take over the mantle of Spider-Man once Peter gave up control of his powers.
Spider-Man has always been popular, but it was not until 2002’s Spider-Man 2 that his popularity really took off. Not only did he become one of the highest grossing films at the time, he also became an international sensation. Many people recognize him for his sleek look as the new wall-crawler, his tight fitting clothes, and his bright red and black costume. He is also known for his actor repertoire which includes different voices and characters.
He first appeared in the 2002 movie The Amazing Spider Man where he starred alongside Emma Stone’s Peter Parker (the future Spidey) as Gwen Stacy’s classmate who gets bitten by Venom. His performance won him several awards including Best Actor at the MTV Movies Awards. After this success, Sony asked him to be Spider-Man full time!
Since then, he has continued to grow in fame with other roles such as Harry Osborn in Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War, Flash Thompson in Suicide Squad, and most recently the title character in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He will next star in Thor: Love and Thunder in November 2019.
His career is quite the whirlwind and he is very grateful for all the support he receives from fans.
As we mentioned, his career as an actor really took off when he was chosen to play Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He has since starred in several other superhero films including Avengers: Endgame where he reprises his role of Captain America!
He has also appeared in many hit TV shows such as ABC’s Agent Carter, Netflix’s The Flash, and CBS’s Supergirl.
His starring or supporting roles have earned him great acclaim for his work. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in The Impossible Racer and received Golden Globe nominations for his performances in Dirty Dancing and Straight Outta Compton.
Holland is well known not only for his acting skills but also his philanthropy. He supports organizations that help people with disabilities live more independent lives. He even wrote and produced a short film about one such organization called Life Is Beautiful.
After graduating high school, he started his acting career in Toronto by performing for several years at the Young People’s Theatre. He later moved to Vancouver where he was able to secure more roles.
He made his feature film debut as Eddie Edwards in 2004’s The Bucket List. Since then, he has appeared in over twenty films including Spider-Man: Homecoming!
His first major role came in 2006 when he starred alongside Emma Watson in Darren Aronofsky’s psychological thriller No Escape. You may have seen him before in that movie if you watched it recently or rented it years ago.
He played Harry Osbourne, son of Lord Voldemort and Lily Evans. While not much is known about how he survived the ordeal, one theory is that he absorbed some magical energy from his father while they were fighting earlier in the book.
Since then, he has mostly starred in romantic comedies such as Drake’s This Is Not A Film (2016) and The Breakup Guru (2018).
After graduating high school, he attended The University of Southern California (USC) to pursue his dreams of becoming an artist. He studied graphic design before dropping out to focus on acting.
While attending USC, he landed several small roles in TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Drop Dead Diva. His first big break came when he was selected for a role on Marvel’s Spiderman!
He played Peter Parker/the new Spider-Man, which aired from 2010 to 2012. Since then, he has gone on to appear in many more episodes of the show as various characters.
His career is going very well, but it wasn’t always easy! It took years for him to get here, so let’s take a look at some important things that helped him succeed as a filmmaker.
As we know, Spider-Man has starred in many movies thus far. He even got his own show! But before all of that happened, he was just an average kid with incredible dreams. His dream was to be famous.
He wanted to go beyond the wall and explore the city, but also make a difference by helping people. This is how he made his way into becoming who he is today — not only as one of the world’s most recognizable superheroes, but also as a motivational speaker.
His stories are very inspiring and tell everyone out there that if you put your mind to it, anything can happen. You never know when your chance will come again, so don’t waste it.
It’s easy to get distracted and stop trying, but you have to believe in yourself first. That’s what makes all the difference.
As mentioned earlier, Spider-Man has been around for decades now! He’s starred in his own films and TV shows several times over, with franchise potential still very much alive.
He was even the focus of his own video game back in 2002! But how did this famous superhero become so well known?
It all started when comic book writer Stan Lee first introduced him to readers in 1962. Since then, he’s gone on to appear in almost every era of comics – including ones that are considered some of the greatest ever made like The Avengers or X-Men!
As we know, Peter Parker/Spider-Man eventually got into super powers at age 16, which allowed him to swing from rooftop to rooftop without using any equipment.
As we mentioned earlier, Spider-Man has been around for years now. He’s starred in his own films as well as several other series including The Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
His solo film is called Spider-Man: Homecoming and it was released in July 2017! His appearances have also included the animated movies like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and New Spider-Man Movie coming out this year.
He made his small screen debut back in 2007 when Marvel launched their hit television show, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! Since then he’s appeared in over 30 episodes across all five seasons and movie specials.
So how did this famous actor get here?
It took lots of work and dedication from everyone involved to make him happen.
As we know, Spider-Man has always been popular but it was not until his own show that he became truly famous. When Marvel launched their Spidey TV series in 2017, they had already seen success with the similarly themed Avengers movies. They decided to connect these two franchises by having Peter Parker/Spider-Man be an understudy for Tony Stark, aka Iron Man!
It is important to note that although this version of Spider-Man does not have his very own superheroic group or team, he does have some allies who help him out. His best friend is MJ, played by Haley Atwell. She later becomes his fiancée after dating each other for several years.
Another major character is Dr. Octopus, portrayed by Sam Raimi. He creates robotic versions of himself which are essential parts of the story. This includes one called Vulture that he uses as transportation. You may have also heard his voice before, in the movie adaptation of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
This article will talk more about Vulture in detail. But first, let us look at another character in the Spider-Man universe.
Character: Flash Thompson
As mentioned earlier, Harry Osborn (the son of Norman) gets involved in the Spider-Man storyline when he finds his cousin’s dead body. Afterward, he begins acting strangely so people start talking. One person who hears about this is high school student Flash Thompson.
