Many people know Steven Oliver as the comedian, writer, actor, and director known for his portrayal of Barry Allen in The CW’s hit series, The Flash. But most are not familiar with his earlier career or accomplishments that have helped make him famous.
In this article we will take a look at some of the ways that he has built an impressive career before landing his big break as Barry Allen. These include acting in commercials, hosting shows, producing movies, and writing comedy scripts and songs.
He also made headlines when he announced his engagement to actress Abigail Breslin, who is best-known for her role as Brittany Cunningham on the TV show Glee.
In 2014, entrepreneur and business guru Steven “Steve” Owens launched his digital show, The Success Podcast with Steve O. Since then he has grown it into one of the most popular self-help podcasts in the market with more than 1 million monthly listeners.
Owens is well known for sharing life lessons that apply to anyone's lifestyle, from improving your career to investing money. He also shares stories and tips about him growing up as a kid who struggled with his confidence until he found motivation internalized through education and work.
He is constantly engaging his audience by creating conversations and topics where everyone can relate and contribute. His entertaining style makes his shows very interactive.
His success comes not only from his educational content but also his ability to connect with his followers and build strong relationships. By offering rewards and recognition to his supporters, he creates an atmosphere of collaboration and friendship among his community members.
He actively cultivates this relationship through comments and messages after each episode, as well as guest appearances on the show. This exposure benefits both him and his guests, helping them promote their own brands and grow their follower base.
After leaving The Office in its fifth season, actor and comedian Steven Yeun made his name as one of the stars of the hit show The Walking Dead. He is most known for playing the role of zombie-killing sheriff’s deputy Glenn in the AMC series that has since become a major player in the genre.
But before he was Glenn, he had another character to play — himself! That is, until Season 5 when he decided to drop the facade and let the world see who he really was.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yeung revealed how he got where he is today. It all started back when he was just a kid living in South Korea.
He says, “I would always make jokes about my family being poor because we didn’t have much money. I thought it was funny at the time but looking back now, maybe there were some hints of depression.”
It wasn’t until high school when Yeung realized something was off about him. He recalls, “A lot of kids noticed I was never smiling so they asked why not. And then I would tell them I don’t feel like talking.”
That changed in college though when he met someone new. This person encouraged him to be more expressive and share what was going on inside of him which helped him find happiness again.
After graduation, Yeung moved to America to pursue his dreams.
After appearing as a guest on The Bachelor in 2017, where he placed third with Aia Smith, his online popularity took off. He starred in several videos talking about how to do your makeup like a pro, and his beauty looks have become very popular.
Steve was born Steven Orlich in West New York, New Jersey in 1984. His father is of German and Italian descent while his mother is mostly Irish. When he was six years old, the family moved to Wyckoff, an upper-middle class suburb of South Orange.
He has one older brother named Eric who is two years his senior. As kids, they were not particularly close but later became best friends after attending different high schools together.
From the time he was little, Steve wanted to be famous. He would dress up in costume for holidays and put on elaborate stage shows that received lots of praise.
As he grew up, this desire to be known publicly got more focused. He loved performing so he tried out for various TV roles including small parts on sitcoms. However, it didn’t work out because he couldn’t get enough screen time to prove himself.
This left him feeling discouraged, which only made him want to try harder. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't see success easily, so instead of giving up, he just decided to keep trying.
In May of 2015, Steven Okazaki, or “Steve” as he is known to his friends, posted an edited version of a music clip onto his channel. The song being used in the edit was originally performed by singer Ariana Grande, titled ‘Break Up With Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend'.
The lyrics, “He's so into you, kiss him and tell him you're not feeling the same way, but don't break up with him because then you'll have one less person to blame if things don't work out," directly refer to someone who has broken up with their significant other due to them moving on with someone else.
Okazaki took those words very seriously and made the lyric match his own situation! He broke up with his girlfriend (and later wife) of two years due to her dating again. And while it may sound funny to some, it really hurt his feelings.
His channel now boasts over 1 million subscribers and he is quite well-known. Many know him for singing catchy songs, making fun of himself and others for putting too much effort into something, and offering tips and tricks on beauty and fashion products.
His success comes from his passion for makeup and beauty, along with his ability to relate to his audience.
As we mentioned before, this entrepreneur is famous for his philanthropy and business acumen. He founded Office Depot in 1977 as a small stationery store in Auburn, Massachusetts. Since then he has grown it into one of the largest office supply stores in America with over 1.8 million employees and revenues exceeding $60 billion dollars!
He now serves as its chairman and CEO, and it’s not hard to see why he made such an impact during his career. His work ethic is second-to-none, and he doesn’t hesitate to put in long hours when needed. This also applies to running his company — he always sets high standards and demands excellence from those around him.
But what truly makes him stand out are his contributions to society through his charity Workday and The O Fund. We will talk more about these two later. For now, let’s take a look at some of his other achievements.
Steve Oliver earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston University in 1978 and began working as a stockbroker. Two years later, he left Wall Street to start his own business – buying and selling used furniture. In just under a decade, his company would go on to become one of the biggest sellers of office supplies in North America.
His success was no accident. Rather than focusing on making money only for himself, he gave most of his earnings away.
After leaving Apple in 2008, then-CEO Steven P. Jobs brought several successful companies under the Apple umbrella before stepping down as CEO in 2011. These firms include Pixar, Beats Audio, and of course, iOS, the mobile operating software that has made the tech giant its own.
But what many don’t know is that Jobs didn’t always have a hand in leading those organizations to success. He actually started some of them with someone else!
He sold InfoSpace for $1 billion back in 2000. You may have heard of this business online shopping site later purchased by Amazon. It was considered the “worst stock investment ever” at the time of sale due to it losing almost half a billion dollars in just five years.
However, prior to that, it was a rising star. In fact, one of Jobs’ biggest investors tipped him off about InfoSphere, a computer networking platform designed to help businesses connect with each other.
InfoSpce eventually spun out as an individual product called Salesforce, which now boasts more than 130 million users worldwide.
After leaving Congress, Steve O went onto become an entrepreneur, television personality and politician. He is best known for being the host of The People’s Court, which aired from 2005 to 2010. Since then he has appeared in several other TV shows, including Celebrity Duets and Life In A Day.
As a politician, his focus was mostly economic growth through tax reform and deregulation. Many people know him as the face of the Taxpayers Against Uncle Sam Party (TAUNS).
He ran for president twice under the Tauns banner before dropping out and endorsing Bernie Sanders. As of January 2020, he is running again for the nomination.
His political career began with the Libertarian party, where he served as chairman from 1999-2001. Then he became affiliated with the Tea Party movement, helping them gain more support by going after big government.
Steve now works at the grassroots level trying to get out the vote for free market candidates. He actively supports Ron Paul and Rand Paul because they are honest politicians who speak their mind. He also likes Pete Buttigieg due to his youthful energy and passion for politics.
His goal is to help voters choose between well-intentioned but misguided leaders that will destroy our country or ones that have made promises about changing things and never do.
Before he was known as The King, before he was labeled as the CEO of Apple, before he became arguably one of the greatest business leaders in history, there was someone who went by his middle name — Steven. He lived an unremarkable life as a college student growing up in Palo Alto, California.
It wasn’t until he was 30 years old that everything changed. After leaving Harvard with degrees in both computer science and economics, he made a decision to pursue something no one else had ever done before.
He ran for President of the United States of America. And not just any run – he wrote a book about it, launched a campaign website, gathered enough signatures to get onto the ballot, and then got voted out!
He didn’t stop there though. Since losing the election he has continued to spread his message across all mediums, giving speeches at prestigious events around the world.
His talks focus mostly on how we can unite as a country and take care of each other instead of being divided. Many people know him now simply as Steve, but to those close to him he will always be Stevie.
